Who we are
Polish Migrant Workers Association (PSPM) is a non-governmental organisation advising Polish migrants working abroad.
PSPM aims to help people leaving their country in the search of job opportunities. Our office offers help free of charge in terms of:
- Labour law abroad
- Rules, regulations and collective agreements in particular sectors
- Social matters
- Social insurances and leaves
- Accidents at workplace
- Cases of unpaid salaries
- Looking for contact to various advisory institutions
- Organising law advisory
Polish Migrant Workers Associations wants the workers to be employed according to the law. We are trying to strenghten the uderstanding between native and migrant workers. We gather a lot of experiences reffering to employment and workers mobility.
Since 2006 PSPM has been cooperating with trade unions in Poland and abroad, associations, Polonia organisations, authorities and institutions working for improving the working conditions for Polish people working abroad and increasing their knowledge about the destination country.
Since then the Association has helped the thousands of migrant workers with respecting their laws.
We are independent
PSPM is an organisation independent on the workers, government, political parties or religious institutions. It is created by workers who are sent by their employers to work abroad. Thus, they are so called posted workers. However, PSPM helps also migrant workers who settled abroad and are employed directly by the employers according to the law of the residential country or seasonal workers. The Association advises everyone in need no matter the race, nationality, gender, religious background or political beliefs.
We help in an unconventional way
Migrant workers leave their houses and families to work abroad. They leave the places where they grew up and feel safe. They hardly ever know the language of the destination country. Communication and contact in a new place is usually very difficult. It becomes even more difficult if it comes to any problems such as accident at workplace or unpaid salary.
Polish Migrant Workers Associations offers them the feeling of safety in the unknown world.
We lobby in migrant workers interests
Our aim is to influence the politicians and society in terms of situation of migrant workers. We achieve it by organising informative campaigns, leaflets, internet publications and participation in official events. Polish Migrant Workers Association is still developing and answering the needs of migrant workers.
